Welcome to Living on Purpose and Words that Matter®

Bringing Attention to Intention

Our Corporate Story

Living on Purpose was established in 2021, to help people on their personal journeys, people striving to live a life of greater meaning. Much of our work has been developed in collaboration with educators, mental health professionals, physicians, and mindfulness teachers, with a tremendous focus on Words that Matter. Through a variety of modalities and  settings, we offer workshops, retreats and individual guidance. We believe that through shared connections around universal values such as gratitude, generosity and kindness, people will lead more intentional and meaningful lives.

Our vision is to help you bring more attention to intention in the way you live your life. What does that look like? Whether it's for you as an individual, in small groups or communities of curiosity, corporate teams, or with family and friends, we invite you to embark on this journey with us. Using our proprietary Words that Matter® approach to experiential learning, we help you cultivate a regular practice of mindfulness, with attention to identifying and strengthening your intentions in every day living.

In 2022, we released our long-awaited card decks which have become extraordinary tools for personal development for all ages and stages of life (toddlers through adults). With Words that Matter® cards, we introduce ways to explore values and cultivate new practices. We now have new Affirmation Decks as well. See Product page for details. In early 2023, we received the registerred trademark for our unique workshops, services, prouct line of card decks, and educational programs, from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Words that Matter®, which continue to evolve and help people of all ages and stages of life.

What People are Saying...

"Participating in Karen's first six-week course was meaningful because she asked questions that stuck with me and helped me first reflect and then take action on how I want to live my best life. Now I join her at every opportunity I can."

Carol, 2021

"The beautiful Words That Matter cards exceeded my expectations! I love that I can draw one or more cards any given day and create combinations of words to focus on as part of my mindfulness practice."

Tammy, 2022

"I asked Karen what 'attention to intention' really meant. She patiently sat with me, asking me questions, sitting in silence, and then helping me discover what matters most to me and how I can intentionally focus on that. It's a powerful experience the way she shares her wisdom and experience, and then invites people to do their own work. She is such an inspiration!"

Erika, 2022

"I've learned so much with Karen's workshops and cards. They are a staple for my learning and growth at this stage in my life. She weaves themes that connect words to real-life experiences, rituals, and deep exploration of values and meaning in life. Every time she offers a themed workshop, I know my life will be better for participating!"

Lynn, 2023

"Karen's writing gets better all the time. I follow her on Medium. I've read the "House of..." books where her pieces have been published; I have enjoyed her contribution to Gratitude Journey-2; and I look forward to reading more from her. She writes from the heart, and it's obvious how much words matter to her.

Robert, 2023
